Celebrating what nature can accomplish when left to its own devices & elevating pioneer plants that pop up in seemingly impossible places. The ones growing on the edges & cracks – humbly making space for nature beyond the flowers in a changing climate. Along with flowers, textured paper has informed both their creative practices at different points in their lives, so Fiona and Marion chose this as an authentic medium to carry their concept. Grounding the design, it evokes the inhospitable and arid landscapes from which they drew their inspiration. Every element of the installation has been incorporated intentionally – selected for its own unique beauty, regardless of expectations and conventions. Fiona and Marion invited us to consider the beauty in each stressed leaf, root and faded stem.
